In this slots rtp database we are going to be listing all of the best paying slots from all the major online casino slots providers. So from listing the highest Microgaming slots payback to the loosest NetEnt slots, the top Playtech RTP slots, etc. Finding a loose online slot is very important for your strategy and payouts. We have separated this slots rtp database into individual sections listing the highest rtp slots from the top crypto slot providers. You can see these RTP lists and posts by scrolling to the bottom of this page or in the below slots RTP list table.

Even some of the most experienced crypto casino players don’t truly understand RTP rates. Over the last few years, a big deal has been made of these values in online slot reviews, and many players are getting their facts wrong because of people poorly understanding how RTP rates truly work. Some players may confuse RTP percentages with hit frequency, and others mix them up with low or high variance. Throw other terms in, and everything gets a touch too complicated for many players. We’re here to straighten out this bag of snakes for you. With our online slots RTP database, you might finally be able to get to the bottom of RTP rates.

Online Casino Slots RTP Information!

Slots RTP org is an organisation dedicated to bringing you as many facts and figures as possible regarding online slots rtp. You will find many rtp lists from dozens of slot providers in our online slots rtp database. Various top lists of the best paying slots and much more information to help you navigate your way through online casino house edges. How we help players Knowledge is power. Understanding that the house always has an edge means you should always gamble with caution, but knowing how much the house edge is on each particular game can certainly help.

What does RTP mean?

RTP is an acronym for Return To Player. In its most simplistic form, the RTP of a game or slot tells us how much of the money that is put through the game will be returned to the player over its lifetime.

The important word here is ‘lifetime’. A slot with an RTP of 96% will be expected to return 96p of every 100p it takes throughout its lifetime as a real money game, not with every spin.

What this doesn’t mean is that for every £1 a player stakes they will get back 96p every single time. If this was the case we simply wouldn’t play slots because every spin would be a loser.

Slot RTP’s are based over many, many millions or billions of spins – remember a slot machine is hosted on the game providers server and thousands of people could be playing it at the same time. This is the reason you experience swings in the way a slot plays, sometimes the slot will be extremely generous and you’ll get huge wins or many bonus rounds in short succession, other times the slot could appear to be very cold – this is the game balancing out its RTP.

RTP’s are important to a player because it gives you an indication of how the slot will play – slots with low RTP’s will be more difficult to win on so you should always play where the RTP on offer is higher. Casino’s are able to set the RTP they would like a game to play at so remember, even if you play the same game at 2 different casinos, the RTP will probably be different.

Typical slot RTP’s are around the 95% – 97% mark, anything higher than this is considered an excellent RTP, anything lower may be considered a low RTP. Jackpot slots can have very low RTP’s because the slot is compensating a percentage of your stake to the jackpot – Mega Moolah for example has a very low RTP of 88.12%.

To find a slots RTP you would usually look inside the Game Info when the slot has loaded, legally the RTP has to be made available to the player.

Best Payout Slots Online:

Please bear in mind that the best RTP slots do not necessarily mean you have a better chance of winning. High paying online slots are determined by millions of spins and other factors can also come into play for example variance. The best paying online slots might be lucky for you but you might have cold periods as well. And don’t forget that even the highest RTP still gives the casino a house edge over you.

What is online slots RTP?

First and foremost, let’s get the obvious out of the way. What is slot RTP? RTP stands for Return to Player. It is the theoretical rate indicating how often players are likely to win. Because of this, RTP (when being expressed as a percentage) is often called an RTP rate or return to player rate. You might have seen tRTP or TRTP thrown about the place, too. Don’t worry about, that’s just an unnecessary way of saying theoretical return to player and is mainly found in American sites. We will stick to calling it the international standard in our slots rtp database: which is simply RTP.
RTP is usually expressed as a percentage and is designed to show how often players will win in the long-term. Obviously, players are looking for as high a percentage as possible here. Almost all developers announce the RTP rates of their slots, and if you can’t find it at an online casino, you can always check out online casino reviews to find the RTP rates of games yourself. You could also calculate the RTP rate of a game, but to do that you need certain information.
To calculate RTP rates, you need to know two things:

The total amount paid out by the game to all players
The total amount staked by all players

Many of the best casinos will provide you with this information in monthly reports, but if you don’t have access to that, you can do your own mini guesswork. Keeping in mind that the results of one player aren’t likely to generate as accurate an RTP report than having the results from all players at a casino. Playing a free demo game and keeping track of what is wagered and what is paid will give you an RTP rate when you divide the total amount paid by the total amount staked. However, you will need to do this for hundreds if not thousands of spins to get a more accurate picture.

The Specifics of RTP rates

It is important to remember that RTPs involve a percentage of the money paid back to all players over time, not instantly. So, for instance, if you were stake £1 on your favourite slot, and let’s say that it has an RTP rate of 95% (the accepted industry standard nowadays), you would expect to win at least 95p, right? Wrong, and here’s why…

RTP does not work over a single bet, and nor can it be calculated accurately over 2 or 3 bets. You cannot look at RTP in the short term. RTP is calculated over the long term, which means over time, if players wager £1,000, they are likely to end up with £950 being paid back. Suddenly slot RTP rates don’t look so good. Again, that’s in the long-term, though, and anything can happen in the short-term. Here’s why…

In the short-term Player A decides to have a single £1 spin on a slot with an RTP rate of 95%. She wins £500 right there and then. Player B decides to have a crack at the same slot, at the same time, with the same stake. Although the stakes, RTP rate and everything else is identical, he wins nothing. Now, to Player A who won £500 with a single £1 bet, the slot will be viewed as having a far more significant RTP rate than the 95% it is listed at. Player B (who won nothing at all) sees the RTP rate as far less than the 95% listed. As you can see, in the short-term, RTP rates don’t play ball and you should take this into account when researching our slots RTP database. Yet, if they were to keep playing for a thousand, two thousand, three thousand spins, things would (in theory) balance out, especially if both player’s stakes and wins were taken together in the same calculation.

How do Jackpot Slots Contribute to the RTP rates?

When Player A won £500 on their first spin, that threw the RTP out of whack. So, it is possible for an RTP to go over 100%, but in the long-term, this mainly occurs when a progressive jackpot is won. Should a player win a multi-million-pound progressive jackpot, that is naturally going to mess up the RTP rate. The amount which will have been won by players will often be staggeringly higher than usual, compared to the amount stake. Should an RTP rate rise above 100% because of this, it doesn’t mean a slot is great value for money. The RTP rate will, in all likelihood, level out just as soon as a lengthy period of time passes without a progressive win.

Do House Edges Exist in Slots?

Funnily enough, yes? Let’s stick with the current industry standard which is considered acceptable to most players, 95%. If a slot has an RTP rate of 95%, what does the other 5% constitute? Well, that happens to be the house edge. Most of the time, we don’t look at slot machine games as having a house edge. That is something we usually reserve for blackjack, baccarat, roulette and table poker games. There is a house edge, there, though, and like all games with house edges, it is worth considering and comparing different games to find a game with a low house edge. Unlike table games, though, it is exceptionally difficult to cut down the house edge when playing online slots, even with good, tried and tested betting strategies.

The Bottom Line on RTP Rates listed in our slots RTP database

The bottom line is this: if you’re going to be basing decisions on slot playability from the RTP rate alone, you need to think in the long-term. Of course, this requires a reasonable balance to keep playing over a longer period. If you don’t have that, there are other things you can look at which can affect how likely you are to win, and many of them are often confused with RTP rates. Let’s start by looking at Hit Frequencies, as these are often confused with RTP rates.

I Heard About Hit Frequencies, What Are They?

You may have heard the term hit frequencies bandied around before. It is likely that you may even have confused them with RTP rates. You shouldn’t, they form a part of RTP rates but aren’t RTP rates themselves. Slots which display their hit frequencies are far more appealing to players than those which don’t. Why?

Unlike RTP rates, which offer you a theoretical percentage of how much of all wagered stakes are going to be paid out to players in the long-term; hit frequencies promise to tell you how often a winning spin is going to occur. These can be slightly more accurate pieces of information for players looking to play a slot which pays out frequently than RTP rates.

Your average slot machine will have a hit frequency rate of between 9% and 25%. This means that up to a quarter of spins will result in a win. These play a part in determining the RTP rate of course. However, these hit frequencies do not specify whether the wins will be considerable, or petite. They may constitute a 1p win on a £1 bet, or they could amount to a £500 win on a £1 bet. How likely you are to win, and how much you are going to win each time is down to variance. This is another aspect which is hard to list in our slots RTP database but which needs to be considered.

What About Slot Variance and Volatility?

Slot variance or volatility are often confused as the same as slot RTP rates, too. They aren’t. Just like hit frequencies, they play a part in forming slot RTP rates. Variance or volatility is the sum of how likely you are to win and how much those wins are going to be worth in relation to your stakes.

Many people would consider a slot machine with an RTP rate of 85% inferior to one with 95%, right? Why would you ever play a slot with a lower RTP rate? Well, that is where variance and volatility come into play. Just because a slot has a low RTP rate, doesn’t mean you can’t win big money on it. In fact, in many cases, it is the other way around.

There are three types of variance in the slot world, low, medium, and high. Each one offers you something rather different.

Low variance slot machines are typically associated with slots that have high RTP rates. In the long-term players will win far more frequently on these games than in medium or high variance slots. Because of this, the game has been set up in a way that it does not pay out big sums very frequently. Sure, you can win on many spins (so it will have high hit frequency rates, too) but the amount you pocket on each win remains small.

As you can imagine, then, high variance slots offer the opposite. These are often slots with low RTP rates, and they do not pay out wins frequently at all as their hit frequencies are low. However, when they do cough up the goods, the winnings tend to be rather spectacular and often very sizable. The trick is having a fat enough balance to sustain periods of continual losses until that big win comes long.

Then there are medium variance slots. As you can imagine, these form most slots out there. They offer you so-so hit frequencies, so-so RTP rates, and so-so prizes. These vanilla slots are what most people choose to play

Another word you may have heard bandied around is slot volatility. While it certainly sounds snazzier than variance, it essentially amounts to the same thing. Slot volatility is more commonly used to describe how much risk there is with a slot, but the same principle is used as in slot variance. So, low variance slots have low volatility, medium variance slots have medium volatility, and high variance slots are known as being highly volatile. That’s all there is to volatility, really.

You may also have heard the term “high paying slots” thrown about the place. Let’s just clear this one up right now, too. There is no such thing. What one player may consider to be a high-paying slot may be quite different for another. One player may consider a high-paying slot to be one which doesn’t pay frequently, but when it does, it offers jackpots worth thousands of pounds. Another may consider a high-paying slot which pays out frequently, but very little. To each their own. Our advice is to avoid the term “high paying slots” and focus instead on looking for slots with low or high variance/volatility, as per your preference.

So, what is the Slot RTP Rate for Me?

If you are looking in out slot RTP list for a slot which pays out the big bucks but does so rarely, you’ll need a big balance and any slot machine which is listed as a high variance game and has an RTP rate of around the 85% to 90% mark.

If you are after a slot which provides any wins at all, no matter how small, and frequently, then you don’t need to have as large a balance to play with. You will be looking for any game with an RTP rate of 95% or higher, and one which is advertised as having low variance.

If you’re still not sure and want to play it safe, then go straight down the middle, with a medium variance and volatile slot. The chances are, if you pick a slot at random, this is what you’ll end up with anyway.

Below we are going to go into a little detail on 50 slots with favourable RTP but don’t forget to make sure to check out our mega list: 200 best paying slots with the highest RTP which is in a handy table format for your convenience!

Find the best online casinos on letemspin.com or find Crypto Casinos

With better graphics, interactive bonus games and innovative designs, casino slots are getting more and more advanced. Game providers are all competing to provide us with the ultimate entertainment. Beneath the amusing and charming exterior, we do however find the same old mechanics that ensures that the house always has an edge on us. In spite of this, we still love taking our favourite slots for a few lucky spins, hoping to hit that big win.

In the following article we will take a closer look at the mechanics behind casino slots, why we’re losing on them, how we can improve our chances of winning by looking at casino rtp and also why we love to play so much.

The basics – Casino RTP Slots are all about chance (RNG)

Slots have no memory. They never know how much you have won or lost and therefore this will never affect the outcome of a game round. Every spin is unique and the outcome is always randomly decided, which is guaranteed by a random number generator (RNG) being used in the slots.

To give a very simple example of this, you could picture rolling a die. The chance of hitting either one of the six numbers on this die is 1/6 every time you’re rolling it, no matter what it has previously shown. Slots work in a similar way, but where every number is a combination of different symbols and every time you press the spin button, it’s not a die of six numbers rolling, but a die that has thousands of numbers and thousands of different outcomes.

Another slight difference is that the probability for each outcome on a slot machine is not the same to one another. There’s something called hit frequency, which is a value set to determine what the probability should be for a certain outcome to happen. Let’s illustrate this by going back do the die again and picturing that the number 6 represents the highest paying symbol in the slot, whereas the number 1 represents the lowest paying one. Instead of every number having a 1/6 chance of showing up, we’re reprogramming the die so that the number 6 is showing up half as often (1/12) and the number 1 twice as often (1/3). When we’re now rolling the die the outcome will still be randomly decided, but the probability of hitting the number 1 is now twice as high as 2-5 and four times higher than hitting the number 6.

We could also illustrate this by coming up with our own slot machine. Let’s call it “The Lucky Aquarium” and make things really simple by only giving this slot five different symbols; treasure chests, golden fishes, purple fishes, yellow fishes and red fishes.

Casino RTP and Hit Frequency
Combination Payout Hit Frequency
Five treasure chests 2500 0.001%
Five golden fishes 1000 0.015%
Five purple fishes 400 0.05%
Five yellow fishes 50 0.5%
Five red fishes 5 7%
Total 3955 7.566%

As you can see in the table above, this made up game has a probability (hit frequency) of 1/100,000 (0.001%) to hit a winning line of five of the highest paying symbols (treasure chests), whereas the probability of hitting any winning line of five symbols is about 1/13 (7.566%). This is an example of how it could look like in a real slot. It is however important to know that all slots have different values when it comes to payouts and hit frequency. Generally speaking, it’s fairly common that slots have about 40% probability of hitting any winning line of any symbols.

This is why we’re losing on slots

As chance is always the deciding factor it is over a certain period of time possible to make a profit playing slots. With that being said, the house will always have an edge on us, which means that the more we play, the more likely are we to lose and in the long run we’re always losing.

The reason that we’re losing is simply because the slots are programmed to give an advantage to the house. Apart from the hit frequency determining how often we’ll get a winning outcome, there’s something called “return to player” (RTP). This is a value that’s determining how much we in theory will receive back on every spin that we make.

The return to player (Casino RTP) is always lower than 100% as 100% or more would mean that the house didn’t have any edge. For online slots the casino RTP value is usually somewhere between 92-97%. Let’s say that we’re playing a slot that has a casino RTP of 95%. This means that we on average would get 95% back on every spin that we make. When we have bet a total of 100€, we would in theory have received €95 back, thus losing €5.

As chance is always the deciding factor, this will in reality rarely be the case when €100 has been bet. Instead it could very well be that you were very lucky on your first €100 and ended up with a sum of €400 or that you had a terribly bad luck which resulted in only €20 left. In the very long run, you will however on average have lost €5 for every €100 bet.

How much do casino slots pay back?

How much you’re winning and losing in the long run is all determined by the casino RTP. This value is based on the probability for every outcome and the value of those outcomes.
If we go back to the table of our made up game, we’re able to calculate and add what the casino RTP is. This is done by first calculating the RTP for every possible outcome, which is done by multiplying the probability (hit frequency) of the outcome with the value of it. To get the total casino RTP of the slot, we then simply add all of these separate RTP values together.

Casino RTP details
Combination Payout Hit Frequency Casino RTP
Five treasure chests 2500 0.001% 2,5%
Five golden fishes 1000 0.015% 15%
Five purple fishes 400 0.05% 20%
Five yellow fishes 50 0.5% 25%
Five red fishes 5 7% 35%
Total 3955 7.566% 97,5%

In our example slot the total RTP ended up with a value of 97,5%, which is quite a common value among online slots. Please do however note that this is a very simple example and that the slots we’re playing on have a lot more symbols and winning outcomes that can happen. For us to be able to calculate the online casino RTP of an online slot, we would have to know the probability of each outcome, which we never do. Luckily this is already done by the game provider and the casino RTP can always be found in the slot’s information.

Why play slots – is it possible to win?

If we’re always losing in the long run, why on earth are we then playing so much? The main reason is of course for entertainment. Playing slots isn’t really an investment for future, but neither is going to the movies or having a spa-weekend. It doesn’t have to be, because it’s incredibly amusing and give us the thrill and excitement that many of us aren’t getting in the everyday life.

As chance is always the deciding factor it is of course also possible to win really big, even though the odds speak against us. If we’re playing jackpot slots where it’s possible to win several million, our lives would not only change forever if we would win, but most likely we would actually have beaten the house and ensured a lifetime profit. Of course the chance of winning such a life changing jackpot is very small, but the chance is always there and someone will definitely win it, which is the beauty of playing jackpot slots.

Even though we can never affect a slot’s casino RTP, we are actually able to increase our chances of being profitable by taking part of good bonus offers. This is because we’re receiving money that is not our own, but which we are able to turn into profitable withdrawals if lady luck is on our side.

To summarize, slots do not only provide entertainment and a well-needed excitement in our everyday lives, but there’s always a chance to hit big wins and even win life changing amounts. It is however important to be aware of the casino RTP and that the house always has an edge on us, which will always make us lose in the long run.

Online Casino and Slot RTP Database

RTP or Return to Player gives us an indication as to how much a game is expected to give back through its lifetime – for a slot this could well be based over many millions of spins. Don’t forget to check out the entire Slots RTP Database

Casinos are able to set their own RTP for some games, within a set limit, which is why you will find the same game may have different RTP’s across different casinos.

The lower the RTP the harder a player is going to find to win – a higher RTP generally means more wins more often, however even with high RTP’s games are still prone to huge swings and long dead periods so this must be taken into account.

We have checked the RTP of some of the games hosted at all of our casinos to get an idea of how generous the games are and taken this into consideration with our ratings.
